Alvar

It was with the artist Ugo Nespolo (1941) that Giuseppe Raimondi created the innovative Alvar chair in 1966 while he was the creative director of Gufram. With this organically designed chaise longue, the publisher is committed to the Radical design of the late 1960s and embodies, through this design, the quest for democracy and freedom of expression of new users. The polyurethane foam, which is used here as a structural material (and not just as upholstery), retains the lightness and versatility of the furniture of the 1960s. Sitting on the floor but ready to be moved elsewhere, it displays a hippie attitude with a fresh, no-frills design.
