Tube Chair
The Tube chair was designed in 1969 by Joe Colombo. It is made of lacquered semi-rigid cylinders, upholstered with polyurethane foam and joined by steel and rubber connections. This piece of furniture can be arranged in any combination to best suit its user. The materials that make up this chair reflect the growing interest in artificial materials in domestic environments that became popular in the 1960s. Colombo radically reinvented the forms of furniture and created innovative interiors that were an expression of the rapidly changing lifestyles of that era.
