This stackable children's chair shows us how Pop furniture, despite all its brilliance and fantasy, is first and foremost functional and ergonomic. In the early 1950s, designers Richard Sapper and Marco Zanuso began to explore the possibilities offered by plastic. The K1340 chair, designed for children, is the first in the world to be built entirely from plastic. It is made of polyethylene, an easy and unbreakable material. In 1964, this chair receives the Compasso d'Oro design award. The jury recognises the designers' ability to give children the opportunity to easily and safely take possession of their spaces.
