Flower chair
Model 8810
Pierre Paulin, one of the great representatives of French design, author of the famous Ruban (1966) and Mushroom (1963) chairs, imagined the shape of the Model 8810 Flower chair in 1970. Pierre Paulin is known for his modern spirit and his creations that combine rigour and organic forms. His works are inspired by Scandinavian furniture, Japanese style and the work of Charles and Ray Eames. The Model 8810 Flower chair, edited by circa and produced in one plastic block, shows the impact of his training as a sculptor at the École Camondo in Paris on his work as a designer. Inspired by the shape of a flower, Pierre Paulin subtly combines sculpture and design by offering the user a functional art object.
