Miss Global
Designer Philippe Starck was inspired by the Directoire style to design the Miss Global chair in 1994. Rather than a unique and exclusive piece, Starck designed a consumer product. The inspiration for the Directoire style is found in the backrest curved backwards and in its tubular sabre legs. Apart from its two aluminium rear legs, this chair is made entirely of tinted polypropylene plastic. Easy to stack thanks to its reduced width, its seat is distinguished by a slight central bulge on top. The Miss Global chair reveals Philippe Starck's ability to re-appropriate classic furniture styles.
