Collection Grifoncino

This chair is part of the furniture designed by Cesare M. Casati and Emanuele Ponzio in 1968 for the nightclub in Bolzano, Il Grifoncino. In the 1960s the movements of protest in design and architecture found their way into nightclubs. Il Grifoncino was set up in a tunnel whose stainless steel dance floor was overhung by large acoustic "headphones" that attenuated loud noises. Gino Marotta then imagined decoration and Casati and Ponzio transparent furniture (including tables), which allowed the space to be illuminated in purple and blue from the floor.
