This bottle was shown at the L'eau en formes, Vittel Design 86 exhibition at the CCI-Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris in 1986. On that occasion, the French company Vittel – the first to have introduced plastic water bottles in 1968 – invited seven international designers to create a mineral water bottle for the year 2000. Product packaging design is linked to our lifestyles and must take into account not just its production, but also its distribution, use and the end of its lifecycle. The designer Gaetano Pesce created an object reminiscent of a piece of rock which symbolised the mountain water source.
