Dondolo

The Dondolo rocking chair is the supreme expression of the research carried out by the duo Cesare Leonardi and Franca Stagi on the performance of plastic materials. Produced in a single piece by extrusion (a novel and economical process), Dondolo defies the structural limits of GRP. The ribs and lateral edges allow the support of a high resistance to weight, while maintaining the purity of its shape, which gives the impression of movement. The Dondolo rocking chair is one of the flagships of the exhibition Italy: The New Domestic Landscape (MoMA, New York, USA, 1972) which celebrated the design of the Italian peninsula.
